The Energy Community of Gedrez is a non-profit association created in 2025 by the neighbors of the village to channel different initiatives for energy improvement. The first project is the creation of a collective self-consumption to reduce energy consumption. The opportunity arises from the presence in the vicinity of an old abandoned hydroelectric power plant, which makes it possible to use part of its equipment for this initiative. <\/p>\n\n

According to previous studies, a micro-hydroelectric plant based on a hydro-screw with a power of about 20 kW is planned. The plan is to hybridize with photovoltaic technology to improve performance in the summer months when water flows are reduced. <\/p>\n\n
