Open call for BUSINESS PROJECTS (PPEE) and SMALL INVESTMENT PROJECTS (MINIMIS), for FAIR TRANSITION ZONES – ITJ

On June 10, the BOE (Official State Gazette) published the extracts of the calls for aid for BUSINESS PROJECTS (PPEE) and SMALL INVESTMENT PROJECTS (MINIMIS) for FAIR TRANSITION ZONES, of the Institute for a Just Transition (ITJ), which opens a period of 2 months to submit proposals for the development of business investment projects in areas affected by the closure of coal mines, coal-fired power plants and nuclear power plants, as well as their surroundings.

Most important milestones set in the Call for Business Projects that generate employment:

  • Estimated maximum amount 24 M€
  • Maximum project execution period: 24 months.
  • Deadline for submission of applications: 2 months from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the BOE (Official State Gazette).
  • Documentation to be submitted when applying for aid (fourth)
  • The following maximum bonus amounts are established per job created:
    • 7,500 € Maximum amount per committed position
    • 15,000 youth work (18-30 years old), over 45 years old; female; disability; including ITJ bags
  • Maximum amount limits:
    • 3M€ per project
    • 3M€ per company
  • Per fair transition zone. An area may not exceed 25% of the total amount. In the event that the budget limit is reached and one or more just transition zones are left without any selected project, the highest scoring project from those zones will be selected and the previously lower scoring projects previously selected will be discarded, in ascending order of score, up to the budget limit established in the call for proposals (…).
  • Criteria and ceilings for the calculation of the eligible investment (sixth, 5.)
  • Aid quantification criteria (seventh)

Most important milestones set in the Call for Small Investment Projects:

  • Estimated maximum amount 4 M€
  • Maximum project implementation period: 18 months (both for job creation and for investment implementation and start-up).
  • Deadline for submission of applications: 2 months from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the BOE (Official State Gazette).
  • Documentation to be submitted when applying for aid (fourth, 4)
  • The following maximum bonus amounts are established per job created:
    • Up to €15,000 Maximum amount per committed position
    • Up to €30,000 youth work (18-30 years old), over 45 years old; female; disabled; including ITJ bags
  • Criteria and ceilings for calculating eligible investment (sixth, 4.)
  • Aid quantification criteria (seventh)
