Project | Alimerka Sustainability Project |
Promoter | Alimerka |
Brief description | The Sustainability Project has been developed over the last 10 years through measures aimed at the transition to more sustainable mobility and energy self-sufficiency through photovoltaic solar energy. Sustainable mobility project Seeks to reduce the company’s environmental footprint through the use of alternative mobility vehicles in the fleet for logistics, supply and delivery tasks. Alimerka began using electric vehicles in 2012 by incorporating electric vans for home delivery. In 2015, trucks powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) were added to the logistics and distribution transportation fleet. In 2017, an LNG gas station was installed at the Logistics Center (Llanera), which allows 100% self-supply. In 2021, the first electric truck was incorporated and in early 2023, the fleet transformation was carried out by incorporating 21 100% electric trucks. The company’s fleet is completed with 21 hybrid trucks and 33 LNG trucks, and 19 ultra-fast chargers have been installed at the company’s premises. Energy self-supply project In 2019, an installation of 7,500 photovoltaic modules was commissioned at the Logistics Center, which has made it possible to provide solar energy to the entire complex without the need to resort to fossil fuels. During its first 12 months of operation, it has managed to produce more than 1GWh of 100% renewable electricity. |
