The energy community of San Martín del Rey Aurelio was born with the impulse of the City Council and a group of neighbors committed to a fairer, more sustainable and participatory energy model. This initiative, directly linked to the territory and the fight against energy poverty, seeks to generate local renewable energy to reduce costs, improve resilience and strengthen the social fabric of the municipality. Institutional support has been key, especially with the transfer of municipal roofs and technical support, allowing to transform a citizen project into a collective reality that benefits households, SMEs and the City Council itself.
