Presentation of the Observatory at the Making Training a Reality for Quality Jobs in European Industries event.

The Director General of Energy and Mining, Belarmina Díaz, explained this morning in Zagreb (Croatia) the experience of Asturias in defining broad frameworks for dialogue and public-private participation to face the energy transition process and the change of economic model.

Díaz, together with Faen’s general manager, Carlos García Sánchez, participated in a conference organized by IndustriALL Global Union, an organization that brings together unions from 140 countries representing more than 50 million workers in the mining, energy and manufacturing sectors.

The director explained the uniqueness of Asturias as a region in transition and how the government has favored the participation of social and economic agents, universities and innovation entities to define lines of work and roadmaps to address decarbonization and promote a just transition process.

In this sense, he gave as an example the Observatory for Just Transition as a tool for participative governance and an open forum to monitor the change of economic model and to address, from transparency, a transformation that not only affects the territories but also the people and the workers.
